The event, held in our faculty’s Sabri Bektöre Conference Hall, featured Dr. Şenol Gündoğdu, a faculty member from our department, as the speaker. The conference was attended by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş, our Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Fişne, as well as academics and students.
In his speech, Dr. Gündoğdu discussed the historical context of the National Anthem, the life of Mehmet Akif, and the process of writing the anthem. It was emphasized that Mehmet Akif, recognized as one of the spiritual leaders of the National Struggle, wrote the anthem in 10 days at Taceddin Lodge, capturing the spirit of the era.
